Day 5

The conference centers minister to my heart

“…as it is my eager expectation and hope that I will not be at all ashamed, but that with full courage now as always Christ will be honored in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” (Philippians 1:20-21).

My Story
My first experience at one of our conference was in June 1975 within two weeks after my graduation from West Point. Colonel Meadors was “the keeper” of the Springs. It was a newly commissioned seminar led by Col. Jim & Barbara Meredith. While attending that seminar, I fell in love with Spring Canyon. I climbed “The Hook” and was blessed by the setting. I served on the ROACT board from 1976-79. I took my new bride there for the first time in 1978. I have led three 11-day RMHs and visited Spring Canyon over 30 times. While on the Staff/Faculty of USAFA (1990-93), I was at SC ten times. I have an equal love for WSS having been there a dozen times. I was a member of OCF when the Caleb project was voted on and have taken hundreds of cadets to WSS. I always feel refreshed after visiting one of our conference centers—because they minister to my heart.

How I am praying God will move during the next 40 days
Endurance, Courage & Boldness to Stand in the Power of His Might.
