Day 17

We are forever grateful to God and to OCF

“I could have no greater joy than to hear that my children are following the truth” (3 John 4).

Our Story
We became Christians in the 8th year of our marriage. At that point we had three children. Early in our faith journey we were led by the Holy Spirit to pray that God break the chain of iniquity we saw in our families. He answered that prayer in spades as we now see our adult children walking with the Lord with no memory of not being Christians. Praise Him!

Not long after becoming Christians we PCS’d to the east coast and started up a Bible study. At that point I was a Major and two 1stLt’s who joined the study asked me after a couple months if this was an OCF Bible study. I told them it could be but only if they told me what OCF was! Based on their description Michelle and I looked into OCF and the next summer we spent a week at the White Sulphur Springs conference center family camp (now known as R&R!).

What an answer to prayer! Our prayer verse above has been our home school verse and we saw how God used the WSS staff and the friends our children made to help bring that verse alive in our children. We are forever grateful to God and to OCF for the dedicated followers of Jesus at OCF’s conference centers and the enormous blessing they continue to be to our family.

Our Prayer
We pray that God will make clear to the OCF leadership how He will continue to use the conference centers into the future to have a similar effect in other families, to include our children’s families!
